Voila!  Ship under glass!  In this photo the sealant hadn't set yet and I jammed the cork in lifting the bottle from the plaque.  I have since fixed this problem...

Here is the "final" painting.  Next up: glue on the glass without messing the damned thing up!

g-g-g-g-ghost diver!!! Color rough, WIP

Jinkies! Up late messin' around on a Friday night. Honestly, I think I'm giving way too much thought to this color rough, but it keeps me off the streets, right? Got to figure out what's going on with the suit, then I think I'm ready to start painting this guy! He's eventually going to be part of a portrait series of spooky sailor/diver types. Ideally I want to put them in oval gilded frames, preferably with scroll work/filigree, but finding the frames has posed some challenge thus far.

This here is the first color comp for the first piece in a new series. I have decided that while the last two years of my schooling and the two years since have comprised of almost all digital work, that it is high time I got my hands dirty again and break out some actual paints (yes, I know this is digital...). Coming up: the Afterlife Aquatic, a new series of paintings and sculpture set at sea with just a twist of humor and quite a bit of the horrors of the deep!
